Description
Z- Hay/Daisy Bridges Phase 4 on the Mussellshell Ranger District of the Lewis & Clark National Forest Project is located in T10N, R11E, Section 1, approximately 30 miles northwest of Harlowton, Montana, in the Little Belt Mountains at approximate elevation 6500 feet. Access to the project is by approximately 4.3 miles of motorized trail off trailhead on Forest Development Road No. 189 and is restricted to uses authorized on the Lewis & Clark National Forest 2007 Travel Plan. Trails to junction 606/601 are authorized for ATV use and therefore to equipment up to 50 inches in width. Trail from junction 606/601, southeasterly to the project site is authorized to use by motorcycle, but not by ATVs. Contractor will be special authorized for construction equipment widths of up to fifty inches on Trail 601 from junction 606/601 southeasterly to the project site but must abide by the normal Travel Plan restrictions for daily access during the construction period. Work consists of construction of 2 bridges; construction of an embankment w/culvert; construction of new trail; disposal of 3 native timber bridges and incidental related work. The new bridges will be glued-laminated stringers and constructed according to Forest Service, Region 1, Standard Plans for Trail Bridges. It is expected that bridge materials, gabion rock, drainage rock and culvert will be flown in with helicopter. Gabion rock found on the project may also be utilized at the contractors discretion. No pre-quote tour is scheduled contractors are urged to visit the site on their own prior to submitting a price. Magnitude of Construction is $25,000- $100,000
