BRAND NAME JUSTIFICATION FOR CK61GB Handheld Terminals use secure socket layer traffic as part of an integrated security program which supports TRANSCOM. It is imperative that the developmental environment matches the operational environment to ensure completeness in testing. Without the purchase of this hardware and its associated devices, the required testing before fielding new software and/or system architecture changes would not be able to take p! lace. This could adversely affect CMOS and users in the field DoD wide with the introduction of new software and/or system architecture changes that are not thoroughly tested. The Government's minimum needs can only be satisfied with the purchase of this hardware and maintenance. This purchase allows the developmental environment to match the operational environment. A failure to purchase specified hardware and maintenance would prevent the Transportation Flight from meeting current customer requirements of thoroughly tested changes to software and system architecture.
