- Description
- The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), Navy Portable RadiosProgram Office, PMW-170, intends to negotiate, under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, a sole source contract modification with Harris Corporation, RF Communications Division, 1880 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14610, under existing contract N00039-07-D-0001. The modification will increase the ceiling under the contract by $78.5M. There is no change to the Period of Performance. The Portable Radios Program is designed to procure, field, and support handheld, man-pack, vehicular, and base station radios that fulfill Navy Ground Force High Frequency or Multiband Inter/Intra Team Radio, Very High Frequency (tactical and maritime), Ultra High Frequency Line of Sight, and Satellite Communications (SATCOM) requirements for portable radios to meet the Navys immediate need for legacy radios. While the Government is not soliciting proposals in response to this synopsis, it is the policy of the Government to foster competition. Any prospective offeror may provide information, which the Government will consider in its continued review of the requirement. A determination by the Government not to compete the modification to N00039-07-D-0001 based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334220.
