Description
ONLY WRITTEN REQUESTS FOR COPIES OF THE SOLICITATION WILL BE HONORED. IMPORTANT: TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. The contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, tools, equipment, transportation and materials required to reroof 8 boiler sheds known as N26, N30-N36, located at US Coast Guard, Base Support Unit, Kodiak, Alaska. Project includes changing the roofing from steel to asphalt shingles in accordance with the Statement of Work, contract clauses, wage determination and applicable federal, state and local regulations. Total area to be reroofed is estimated at less than 9 squares. Buildings N30-N36 are 8x10 gable roofed buildings and N26 is a smaller shed roofed building. The work includes removal of existing steel roofing, removal of existing chimney flue piping, closure of the roof and ceiling penetrations, installation of new asphalt roof, rerouting a new boiler exhaust flue out of the rear wall of the building to terminate above the roof, incidental framing, interior and exerior painting of the repaired or exposed areas, drywall repair of old penetration, and other related work. Several of the sheds have circulation piping that may interfere with the exhaust flue. Reroute circulation piping as required to maintain adequate clearances. Also included in the work is general housekeeping of the interior of the boiler sheds. The task involves sweeping, vacuuming, wiping, and light scrubbing to remove the dust, dirt and expecially the sulfurous ash that has accumulated on the tops of the boiler. The goal is to restore the interior to clean and orderly appearance at the end of the contract. This is a small business set aside. All responsible sources that submit a written quotation will be considered. Government Furnished Materials: None Performance period is 30-45 days. Work to be completed and approved by 1 November, 2010. Submittals, material requirements and work hours are contained in Statement of Work that will be included with the Solicitation Package upon request. A SITE VISIT WILL BE HELD AUGUST 26, 2010, APPROXIMATELY TWO WEEKS BEFORE QUOTE IS DUE (site visits are not mandatory, but are highly encouraged).
