- CHANGE SOW page 14 to read: oContractor shall staff the Operating Room (OR) Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and on call. OR days subject to change in concurrence with the Chief of Surgery and Chief of Anesthesia. Contractor shall coordinate with inpatient attendings to effect timely completion of medically necessary surgery. QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS: 1. This need is for 0.8 FTE (32 hrs/week). The schedule shows work hours Mon-Fri 8:00a-4:30p (40 hrs/week). Please clarify the required hours. o These are the standard working hours at the service, not requested coverage. 2. Will the contractor provider be on a call rotation/schedule with other staff physicians? No, the contractor will (solely) provide on call. If so, what is the call rotation/schedule for weeknights & weekends & holidays? - On Call is for weeknights, weekends, and holidays. 3. Will the vascular surgeon be required to perform C&P exams or is there a need for a second C&P provider? - The contract is very clear that whoever gets the contract is required to perform C&P exams as needed (page 14 of 88, para c). 4. If vascular surgeon to perform C&P exams, what is the average # of exams per month? If second C&P provider required, what are the requirements, schedule, etc. for that provider? - It is left up to the contractor if they determine they need an additional person to do C&P exams when needed. 5. What is the average # of patients seen per day? - Average # per day is 25-30 6. What is the average # performed for each of the Special Vascular Procedures listed on page 15? - Vascular performed totaled 288 OR cases from 10/1/08-9/30/09. 7. What certifications are required, ie. BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, etc? - Physicians must be BLS and ACLS certified. 8. Are there other Vascular Surgeons on staff? - There is one part-time vascular staff MD supervisor. 9. Is there an incumbent, or is this a new contract? - No, this is not a new contract. 10. On page 14 they have Operating room Monday, Thursday, Friday and clinic day on Wednesday. Is Tuesday an off day? - The OR days are Mon, Tues and Thursday at present. Page 14 is incorrect. 11. Anticipated # of hours annually, weeknight, weekend, & holiday on-call services & the anticipated # of hours for each? - The incumbent, Cardiovascular Surgery Clinic, was awarded a multi-year contract at $437,000 per year which they divided by 12 to equal $36,416.67 per month for 24/7 coverage, using more than one physician. This was inclusive of the different types of vascular surgery cases at $1,300 per case and also included administrative duties. They used 2 physicians to cover the surgery days and administrative duties and 3 physicians to cover all night, weekend and holiday coverage.
