- Description
- EPA intends to add scope to a current contract with Canberra Industries, Inc., of Meriden, CT (Contract EP-D-07-091). The current contract was awarded 4/20/07 for a base period of 7 months and three 12-month options for hardware and software support and up to 6 weeks of specific customization and user training for various Canberra systems. The hardware and software support included, but was not limited to, on-site assistance, unlimited toll-free telephone support, unlimited replacement parts, unlimited updates (software), and unlimited emergency visits. The program is requesting to award on a sole source basis an additional 3 weeks of customization services to Canberra Industries in order to relocate existing equipment and then perform operational verification service. These type of services would have been included in the initial 6-weeks specific support, however, those 6 weeks of support have been required for other activities. The intent to sole source is based on Canberra's unique knowledge and familiarity with each device. Also Canberra has proprietary rights to the software and related hardware. No Request for Proposal is available and this notice of intent is not a request for competition. All responsible sources may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability within 15 days of this notice to Karen Watson at Watson.karen@epa.gov and Rodney-Daryl Jones at jones.rodney-daryl@epa.gov for consideration by the Agency. Responses must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. A determination by the Government not to compete this additional three-week effort based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether competition is obtainable. If no affirmative responses are received within 15 days of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the government, the contract with Canberra Industries will be modified to include an additional 3 weeks of customization services.
