- The United States Coast Guard (USCG) is continuing to conduct market research for the Offshore Patrol Cutter acquisition. The Coast Guard invites all interested parties to participate in an Industry Day with the OPC Project (FAR 15.201(c)(1)). This meeting will be held at the Tampa Convention Center (333 S. Franklin Street, Tampa, FL 33602) at 1:30 pm on Thursday, November 4, 2010. The Coast Guard will review the project acquisition strategy and current timeline, concept of operations and top level requirements, and classification of the OPC. The Coast Guard invites interested parties to visit our website ( www.uscg.mil/acquisition/opc/ ) where updates on the OPC acquisition, including future planned market research/industry engagement, requirements and classification information have been posted. During the Industry Day presentation, the Coast Guard intends to answer commonly asked industry questions regarding the OPC acquisition. Interested parties are encouraged to review the material on our website and submit questions for Coast Guard consideration at the Industry Day. These questions may be submitted via email to Offshore.Patrol@uscg.mil prior to October 22, 2010. Questions received prior to this date will be collated and answered by general topic at the Industry Day. Information regarding the Coast Guard's implementation of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) Guide for Building and Classing Naval Vessels (Naval Vessel Rules (NVR)) will be available on our website. The OPC website will have a RSS feed available beginning Wednesday, September 22nd. Submission of a response to this Request for Information (RFI) is entirely voluntary. The voluntary submission of a response to this RFI shall not obligate the USCG to pay or entitle the submitter of information to claim any direct or indirect costs or charges or any other remuneration whatsoever.
