- Description
- Additional Clarifications: 6. Can you provide us with an accurate grid of the location? - FOB Shinwar is roughly 30 miles SE of Jalalabad, located very near the village of Shinwar, Nangahar Province Afghanistan. The directions to FOB Shinwar from Jalalabad are: Travel East on Jalalabad HWY 1A. At the road circle (there is an airplane / traffic Tower / Afghan Flag in the center of the circle), turn RIGHT towards Marco Bazaar until you reach a canal bridge (Hospital Bridge). Turn RIGHT after the bridge on the paved road. Follow this road until you see a hill on your left (it will have a TV antenna and an ABP outpost on it.), do not turn just pass this hill you will see the District Center and the Shinwar ruins on the right. This is near the project area. 7. Please can you clarify more about the requirement to conduct foot patrols around the perimeter of the FOB. This seems to contradict the point made earlier in the RFP that the ASG is on site purely as a defensive force. What US Military support would our personnel receive if they were to be conducting such "missions" up to 1km away from the safety of the FOB? - This requirement is for a "Show of Force" foot patral around the perimeter of the FOB. It is anticipated this foot patrol will be 100 to 200 meters from the perimeter wall depending on terrain. It will be up to the FOB Commander whether US Military takes part in the ASG foot patrols around the FOB perimeter. 8. The number of guard posts/ECPs is listed in the solicitation but not the exact number of guards and supervisors. Can you please confirm how many guards and supervisors you require or let us know how many you require on duty at any one time on each post? - It is up to the contractor to determine how many guards are required to effectively meet the security requirements of the Statement of Work and explain their security plan in their proposal. 9. Do you have a preference for nationality of the Site Manager? Should they be US National, other international or would you prefer Afghan? And do they require any form of security clearance (US, NATO or other)? - Answered in clarification #4 on www.fob.gov 10. Do you intend the guards to remain on-site when not on shift or will they be able to return to their homes between shifts? - Guards are to remain on-site when not on shift.
