This also includes biological science laboratory technician, necropsy technician, animal or research scientist, and laboratory animal medicine and pathologist veterinarian support for these institutes. The intent is that not all types of services may be required at all times at both institutes, but that additional positions may be added through contract modification as additional services are required. Maintaining this accreditation without deficiencies or comments during inspections and reviews is the main goal for institute performance. In addition, the institute must meet Department of Defense, National Research Council, Public Health Service (PHS), EPA/FDA Good Laboratory Practice, and institute requirements regarding animal care and use. This contract may also require fully qualified personnel with appropriate experience to provide biological science laboratory technician, research scientist, veterinary pathologist, and Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee administrative support to these institutes. A firm-fixed price contract for a base and four one-year options is anticipated. The solicitaion will be issued in late October.
