- STATEMENT OF WORK PREVENTANCE MAINTENANCE OF TRANSVAC PNEUMATIC TRASH SYSTEM Contractor will provide all labor and materials to perform all required preventative maintenance (PM) of the pneumatic trash system located at the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center, Detroit, MI. Contractor shall perform all PM work recommended by the pneumatic system manufacturer for the base period effective from October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011, with four (4) pre-priced option years. PM shall include, but is not limited to, the maintenance on the following system's components: ??Butterfly Dampers - weekly o Oil cylinder clevis pivot points. ??Loading Stations - weekly o Check cylinder rod for connection & movement. o Oil inner door tracks (clear any debris) o Lubricate thumb latch and solenoid mechanism with a silicon based lubricant. ??Trash Collector, frequencies as noted below: o Oil pneumatics only if needed for operation - weekly o Inspect internal trash collector's screens for debris and remove material buildup weekly. Additional inspections and debris removal is also required whenever the internal velocity monitors readings are below the minimum system requirements. In addition to weekly cleaning of the trash collector's screens, power washing of screens is required twice per month. o Oil cylinder clevis points -weekly o Inspect and replace gaskets and seals - monthly ??Velocity monitors - monthly o Remove plastic tubing and clear as needed, check and/or clear ports on body, pathway to internal pipe should be open and clean. ??Scrubber - monthly o Inspect internal louvers for buildup and clean as needed. o Inspect and repair gaskets and seals ??System Fan - frequencies as noted below: o Grease motor bearings per manufacturer's instructions - weekly. o Inspect fan blades for buildup and clean as necessary - monthly. ??System Air Compressor - frequencies as noted below: o Check and replace lubricant levels, pressure relief values, air filters and belts per manufacturer recommendations. ??System Desiccant Air Dryer - frequencies as noted below: o Check and replace desiccant, prefilters and after filter elements per manufacturer recommendations. All PM work shall be performed during the business hours of 7:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday.
