- **********SEND ALL CORRESPONDENCE REGARDING THIS SYNOPSIS IN WRITING TO JUDITHDRABKIN AT Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov OR FAX: 256-544-6560*********************NASA/MSFC has a requirement for the FlexTest hardware upgrade for two Aero-90 LoadControl Systems.NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from MTS Systems Corporation on a sole sourcebasis.MTS Systems Corporation is the manufacturer of the Aero-90 family of Load Control Systemsthat is used to support all multiple-channel static structural testing activities. Allof the associated hardware and software are proprietary and, therefore, supported only byMTS Systems Corporation. There are no distributors of MTS products that can provide therequired upgrade.The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to Judith Drabkin at Judith.R.Drabkin@nasa.gov or fax: 256-544-6560 nolater than 4:30 p.m. C.T. on October 14, 2010.Such capabilities/qualifications will beevaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct thisprocurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to competethis proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to thisnotice, is solely within the discretion of the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
