- SENSITIVE DATA DISCOVERY AND PROTECTION REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) N00104-11-I-Q233 This Request of Information is for the acquisition of a technology that searches for and protects sensitive information, e.g., PII and financial data. Per NETWARCOM Computer Tasking Order (CTO) 10-05, "Data at Rest/(DAR) Encryption Solution Implementation and Enforcement", DoD components have been directed to encrypt all sensitive unclassified DAR using an approved encryption solution ; this applies to all mobile computing devices. The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) plans to only encrypt those devices on which this sensitive information resides. Additionally, as sensitive information is found, capability is required to monitor and block the transfer of information from mobile device and beyond the network. Per this directive, information is requested on: Data search capabilities to look for and identify sensitive information on laptops, mobile devices, removable storage media, and desktops. Technical enterprise solutions capable of preventing data loss via the web, network file storage, e-mail, ftp, and other data transfer methods. Interested vendors are encouraged to review the attached technical characteristic sheet that provides a high level summary of the Government ™s requirements. It is requested that those interested submit a narrative, not to exceed ten (10) pages, detailing how their product meets the general characteristics noted. Marketing brochures are acceptable but should be limited to only those that provide sufficient technical product details. No other information submitted will be used for purposes other than this RFI. Submissions are due via email by 9:00 AM, Eastern, 11/1/10. Submissions should be in Microsoft Office 2003, or greater, or Adobe Acrobat 8, or greater, file format. This is a Request for Information only. Procurement questions will not be entertained at this point. The information gathered will be used in developing a more specific acquisition plan. The final method of procurement will be determined if this market research validates that Open Source solutions can support the requirement.
