Description
The Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast, located in Jacksonville, Florida, is hosting a Safety Symposium on November 30, 2010. The symposium will provide a venue for NAVFAC Southeast and industry to discuss continuous improvement with regard to safety performance. NAVFAC Southeast provides Engineering support to the Warfighter, including major and minor construction, A/E design, environmental and facility support services. It is the goal of this event for NAVFAC Southeast to share its philosophy, commitment to safety, measured goals, and utilization of the DoD Construction Contractor Appraisal Support System (CCASS) in source selection and performance evaluation. Dialogue will be pertinent to both prime contractors and their associated subcontractors while working on Navy installations. Topics to be addressed include: OHSA Regulations, Subcontractor Safety Factor, and a Question and Answer session with the Commanding Officer of NAVFAC Southeast. Following the Safety Symposium, NAVFAC Southeast asks that interested contractors remain for a briefing regarding the NAVFAC Southeast Small Business Program. The Safety event will be held from 08:00 AM to 11:00 AM (EST) and the Small Business event from 1:00 PM “ 4:00 PM in Jacksonville, Florida at the University of North Florida Small Business Center, 12000 Alumni Drive. Who should Attend: Any contractors currently working or if interested in contracting opportunities with NAVFAC Southeast should attend this conference.
