Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a proposal. A solicitation document will not be issued and proposals will not be requested. The National Institute on Drug Abuse, Office of Acquisitions-Neuroscience, Station Support/Simplified Acquisition (SS/SA) on behalf of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) intends to negotiate and award a purchase order on a sole source, noncompetitive basis to Roe Bio-Medical Products, Inc., 125 Wilbur Place, Bohemia NY 11716, for a service agreement to maintain the efficiency of the animal facilities vacuum bedding dispensing system and reduce downtime due to malfunctions and cost. The vacuum waste management system is utilized to remove soiled bedding from the animal facility caging and deposits it into a dumpster located outside of the animal facility loading dock. The vacuum bedding dispenser, located in the animal facility cage wash, is used to place clean bedding into clean animal cages as they come out of the tunnel washer. Roe Bio-Medical Products, Inc. is the manufacturer of the vacuum waste management system and the vacuum bedding dispenser that was installed in the animal facility. Roe Bio-Medical requires that only Roe Bio-Medical technicians service their equipment. The period of performance will be November 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011. The acquisition is being conducted under simplified acquisition procedures using FAR Part 12 and is exempt from the requirements of FAR Part 6, Competition Requirement. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this synopsis. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely with the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing synopsis number 1826600 may be submitted to the NIDA Station Support/Simplified Acquisitions Branch, 31 Center Drive, Bldg. 31, Room 1B59, Bethesda, Maryland 20892-2080 to the Attention of Korriise LaRoche, Contract Specialist.
