Description
Facilities, Meals and Lodging The Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located at 1300 W. Richey Ave., Artesia, New Mexico intends to award a Purchase order for facilities, meals, and lodging to accommodate Backcountry Tactics and Tracking Training Program (BTTTP) classes. The facility must have housing for 18 students and 8 staff members, capable of housing teams of up to six per area and a separate area for instructor staff. The meals should consist of a balance diet, morning, noon and evening and capable of meeting special dietary requirements if necessary. The facility must have a meeting area suitable for projecting PowerPoint presentation, desks or tables capable of accommodating six students as a team for three teams. Each BTTTP class will have 18 students. It is preferred that other guests are not at the facility while FLETC students are there. Weapons are carried by students into the dining area for lunch and are carried routinely during the class. The outside facility area must have large areas of remote and varied terrain for operations in the field. Operations extend out for five to ten miles. A sand pit or clear area of 20 feet by 40 feet is needed for an initial training area; this area may be a volleyball court or smooth dirt area (since training is done in all types of weather, a sand area is preferred). Portable ice water must be available on a continual basis. The area must be within a two hour driving distance from the FLETC in Artesia, NM. The BTTTP class sessions will run Monday through Friday. Meals need to start at noon on Monday and the last meal will be noon on Friday of each session. The 2011 class dates are as follows: March 14-18; March 28-April 1; April 25-29; May 9-13 and May 23-27.
