- Description
- This project will apply general storm proofing measures at the Drainage Pump Station No. 13 and Generator Building. The work consists of storm proofing the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans Drainage Pump Station (DPS) 13 and constructing a new generator building to tie into the existing station. Civil features consist of demolition and replacing concrete and asphalt paving and subsurface utilities. Electrical features include two 4 MW diesel driven generators supplying 4160V, with motor control panels and medium voltage switchgear. Mechanical and Plumbing features include radiators, air compressors, diesel storage tanks, fans, louvers and silencers, and other associated work. The existing pumping station building structural features include retrofitting with additional steel columns and horizontal beams between existing rigid frames. The existing pump building will also have an interior-exterior dike system to design flood level and a ladder/catwalk system. Architectural features include storm rated windows, watertight flood barriers, wind resistant doors, louvers and a new roof consisting of a standing seam galvanized roof. A back-up water well and platform is an option for construction.
