sources sought fillable form This is a SOURCES SOUGHT notice. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, is seeking potential firms with experience in constructing steel fish/lamprey barriers. This Government project will be constructed in Trail Creek, which is located in Michigan City, IN (LaPorte County). Interested Contractors must be able to perform the following work: clearing and grubbing, erosion control, select tree removal, excavation and fill for the required access road, placement of aggregate for access road, sidewalk and fish way platform, placement of stay-in-place cofferdam and barrier SSP, placement of geo-textile and riprap, placement of reinforced concrete for the fish way floor and walls, fabrication of fish way appurtenances including baffles, fish screens, upstream gate and grating, installation of chain link fencing, and fabrication and installation of warning signs. In addition, each contractor must be able to pull all required permits and obtain the necessary information regarding availability and use of access roads, highways and railroad facilities to the site. The Army Corps reserves the right to request background or quality checks of any Contractor interested in performing work on this project. Each Contractor must agree to conduct additional screening (as requested) of their employees, as directed by the Army Corps of Engineers. The estimated award date of the contract is 1 February 2011. The estimated cost is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 which has a small business size standard of $33.5M in average annual receipts. This is NOT a request for proposals. This announcement is for planning purposes only. In order to determine the extent of industry interest and experience in the requirement, interested contractors shall present the following information: a brief overview of the firm's capabilities including experience with similar (in scope and cost magnitude) projects; and any socio-economic classification(s) (e.g., large business, small business, small disadvantaged business, etc.) as they relate to NAICS code 237990. Qualified companies are encouraged to respond. The response to this notice shall be in summary format and shall not exceed two (2) pages, not including the attached response form. Please do NOT send an SF 330. No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments. Companies or individuals interested in responding are invited to submit the Sources Sought Information Request Form and associated information via email only to the Detroit District Contracting Office at LRE-Quotes@usace.army.mil. Responses shall include the following information: (1) A completed Sources Sought Information Request Form. (2) If applicable, identification and verification of the company as a Small Business, HUBZone, 8(a), or Service Disabled Veteran Owned Business, subject to verification by the Small Business Administration. (3) Past Experience - provide descriptions of three projects substantially complete or completed within the last five years which are similar to this project in size, scope, and dollar value. With each project experience provided, include the date when the project was completed or will be complete, location of the project, contract amount and size of the project, the portion and percentage of work that was self performed, and a description of how the experience relates to the proposed project. (4) A statement identifying what portion of the work would be self performed, and how it would be accomplished. Attachments must be provided in either Microsoft Word or Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
