- Description
- The Defense Logistics Agency has a requirement for support renewals on Veritas & Symantec Netbackup Licenses. This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular #2005-45. A redacted copy of the required brand-name justification is included within this announcement. This announcement is issued as Request for Quotation (RFQ) # SP4707-11-Q-0003. Place of Performance is Battle Creek, Michigan. Inspection, acceptance and F.O.B. are at Destination, Battle Creek, Michigan. Delivery shall be no later than 20 calendar days after award date. This acquisition is being solicited on an unrestricted basis and the associated NAICS code is 541519 with a Small Business Administration size standard of $25,000,000 in average annual receipts (USD). Offerors shall provide a price for each contract line item number (CLIN) in their quote along with an overall total. Quotes with quantities of less than requested or products other than those requested will be deemed technically unacceptable. Justification: The current support agreement is approaching expiration. The current Netbackup software and support in place is required. Introduction of another manufacturer's software will create a compatibility problem and the required software support is currently only available from the manufacturer and approved resellers. Procurement of alternative backup software and support thereof would require procurement of new client software for every server serviced by the master server and is not cost effective. Further, extensive conversion of all existing backup data to the new software would be required. Potential offerors shall be Symantec resell partners and shall include documentation verifying their reseller authority to be considered technically acceptable. The evaluation factor(s) for award is; lowest-price, technically acceptable. Any resulting contract or order will be firm-fixed price. The Government intends to evaluate quotations and make award without conducting discussions. Please place "SP4707-11-Q-0003" in the subject field of any e-mail correspondence. Questions regarding this RFQ are due by 11/5/2010 at 4:30 p.m. EST. Responses are due by 11/9/2010 4:30 p.m. EST. Please include your Cage code with your quote. Questions and/or quotations may be submitted by e-mail to David Stemple, the primary point of contact for this announcement, at david.stemple@dla.mil, or by FAX: (269) 961-4226.
