- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to purchase software proprietary to one manufacturer as set forth in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 8.405-6 "To an item peculiar to one manufacturer." As it stands, OpenTech is the only known manufacturer of the below listed software. The current software licensing ceiling for the Tape/Copy product is 67,697 Cheryl-Watson MIPS; the new ceiling requested is 79,230 Cheryl-Watson MIPS, an increase of 11,533. The requirement for additional mainframe software licensing is due to mainframe hardware upgrades. In order to support these initiatives, SSA's mainframe capacity will increase by the following Cheryl-Watson MIPS: System 81 - increase of 1,209 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-708 to a z10 2097-710 System 82 - increase of 2,805 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-723 to a z10 2097-729 System 83 - increase of 2,788 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-724 to a z10 2097-730 System 84 - increase of 2,805 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-723 to a z10 2097-729 System 91 - increase of 632 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-707 to a z10 2097-708 System 92 - increase of 678 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-705 to a z10 2097-706 System 93 - increase of 616 Cheryl-Watson MIPS - from a z10 2097-708 to a z10 2097-709 Any vendor capable of providing software that can perform the essential requirements must present electronic/written evidence of such capabilities by November 11, 2010. The Government does not intend to pay for information received and does not intend to provide evaluation results to the sender. All responses must be sent to Mike.DeAngelis@ssa.gov. by Wednesday, November 10, 2010 12:00pm EST.
