Description
The work of this project includes the Construction of a wood frame addition to the existing wood frame sign shop. The existing exterior elements and finishes on this building will be removed, modified and relocated as needed to abut and tie-in the addition. The new building addition is a wood frame structure whose eave and roof will align in elevation and slope and connect to the existing structure. Addition size is 26-0 x 30-0 and will be accomplished as the prime element of this effort. Inclusive with this building addition is the construction of two (2) reinforced concrete slabs to accommodate a propane tank and an emergency generator. Elements that are desired for this project in conjunction with this building addition work are identified as options and itemized below: Option #1 Demolish and remove existing steel building, foundation and apron. Option #2 Purchase and install stand by 15KW generator and 500 gallon propane tank. Construct around this area a chain link fence that is 8-0 tall with 3 strand barbed wire @6 centers on top of the chain link for an overall fence height of 9-6. Provide access gates (2) 4-0 out swing leafs in order to provide a clear opening of 8-0. Minimum post in ground depth to be 4-0 encased in 3,000 psi concrete. Fence standoff distance from pads shall be 4-0. Option #3 Excavate to provide electrical conduit and connection to existing pole with security flood light, back fill, compact and finish surface of trench. Option #4 Remove all electrical overhead lines and install underground. Relocate electrical meters to central location at entrance drive. The estimated cost of this procurement is between $100,000 and $500,000. This solicitation will be available on or about 3 December 2010 and will be available for downloading by accessing the Federal Business Opportunities website (http://www.fbo.gov) which links to the FedTeds website (see below). Prospective contractors are required to self register their firm on the Internet to receive this solicitation. Registration instructions are available on the internet at https://www.fedteds.gov. Amendments, if any, will be available at this Internet site. Neither telephonic, mailed nor faxed requests will be accepted. Registrants are responsible for the accuracy of the information on the registration list. This procurement is 100% set aside for service disabled veteran owned small businesses only. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a Small Business Size Standard of $33,500,000. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which will be considered by the New England District.
