- This Sources Sought Notice is for market research purposes only. This is NOT a request for SF 330's or proposals. Prospective firms' CCR registration must be current. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) -Iowa City is issuing this Sources Sought notice to determine the availability of Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and Veteran Owned Small Businesses (VOSB) that possess the experience and capabilities to provide A/E services for Project 636A8-11-005, "A/E Services to Renovate 8E for Endoscopy & Cardiology." Prospective firms are reminded that as per FAR 52.219-14: By submission of an offer and execution of a contract, the Offeror/Contractor agrees that in performance of the contract in the case of a contract for- (1) Services (except construction). At least 50 percent of the cost of contract performance incurred for personnel shall be expended for employees of the concern. The applicable NAICS code is 541330 with a small business size standard of $4.5 million. The construction cost estimate is between $1,000,000 and $2,000,000. Area of consideration: prime A/E firms must be within a 150 mile radius of the Iowa City VAMC, 601 Highway 6 West, Iowa City, IA 52246. The 150 mile radius will be determined using the following website: http://www.freemaptools.com/radius-around-point.htm A/E Firm to provide all professional, technical and investigative services to prepare working drawings, cost estimates, specifications, and construction period services for the general construction project "Renovate 8 East for Endoscopy & Cardiology". This project will renovate approximately 10,000 square feet on the east wing of the 8th floor to accommodate services for Endoscopy and Cardiology. Both independent fire code review and certified industrial hygienist (to plan and monitor asbestos abatement) will be required on this project. Responses to this notice must be submitted in writing to Gary L. Rogers, Contracting Officer, at gary.rogers4@va.gov (telephone inquiries/responses will not be accepted) no later than November 18, 2010 at 4:00 PM (CST) and must include the following: 1. Prospective firm's name, point of contact, address, phone number, socioeconomic status and DUNS number. 2. Detailed information of firm's previous experience on projects of a similar scope, complexity and value; including the title, location, description of work, dollar value, and a point of contact for reference (name, phone number, and email address) for each project. A maximum of five relevant projects may be submitted.
