Description
155mm PA179 Metal Container (Market Survey) The Army Contracting Command (ACC), Joint Munitions & Lethality (JM&L) Contracting Center, Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Office of the Project Manager Combat Ammunition Systems (OPM-CAS) is conducting a market survey to identify qualified sources to produce the 155mm PA179 Metal Container. The PA179 Metal Container is used to support packaging requirements for the M982, Excalibur 155mm Projectile. The U.S. Government anticipates soliciting offerors for the award of a Firm Fixed Price (FFP), Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, for five (5) ordering periods. Offerors must have a capability to produce a minimum of 50 palletized units per month. Each palletized unit contains nine (9) PA179 Metal Containers, nine (9) sets of foam, six (6) C-channel spacers, a pallet top adapter, a pallet base and strapping. Deliveries are required to occur no later than 8 months after contract award for each delivery order. Interested sources should submit information to demonstrate the following: a.Provide evidence of the capability.b.Provide a description of the facilities/equipment and manufacturing process.c.Provide the maximum rate of production using current facilities.d.Provide evidence of your testing and inspection procedures to ensure items meet government requirements.e.Provide a description of the training of your workers and past performance on similar components.f.Provide a list of vendors/suppliers for all required materials and components to include ionomer window, strap, container foam, pallet and spacers.g.Describe the resources you have to effectively mitigate risks and issues when they arise. This market survey is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a Request for Proposal or as an obligation on the part of the US Government. A TDP is not available in support of this announcement; however, one will be made available should a formal Request for Proposal (RFP) be released at a later date. All information submitted will be held in a confidential status. The contractor shall provide all information requested in this notification no later than 1 December 2010 by electronic mail at no cost to the US Government. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this market survey.
