- Description
- NASA/MSFC has a requirement for engineering support to the integration, operation,and maintenance of the Oxygen Generator Assembly (OGA) development test article. Pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, this Purchase Order will be awarded to Hamilton Sundstrand SpaceSystems International, Inc. on a sole source basis. This contract shall have a baseperiod of one year (12 months) with a one year (12 month) option.Hamilton Sundstrand Space Systems International, Inc. shall provide engineering supportto the Marshall Space Flight Center necessary to prepare and operate the Oxygen GeneratorAssembly (OGA) development test article. Specific tasks are as follows:1. The contractor shall prepare to ship the OGA development test articles cell stackassembly, ship the assembly to the contractors facility, and perform inspections andinvestigative testing to determine the assemblys physical condition. Based on thefindings of these inspections and testing, the contractor shall report to NASA thecondition of the stack, its readiness to be put into ground test operations and, ifneeded, the specific refurbishment processes and replacement parts that are necessary toreturn it to ground test readiness. The contractor shall provide a cost and scheduleestimate for the refurbishment processes and replacement parts so identified.2. The contractor shall provide engineering guidance and direction to MSFC personnel toassemble the OGA development test article, integrate it to existing air revitalizationsystem development test articles and facility support equipment, prepare it for testing,and operate it during testing.The contractor shall provide MSFC personnel with accessto OGA development test article design and operation documentation as needed as needed tosupport its integration and operation with MSFC ground test systems. The contractorshall review and provide technical comments to MSFC-developed test plans and proceduresrelated to the OGA development test article. This notice is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared inaccordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additionalinformation included in this notice. The Government intends to acquire a commercial itemusing FAR Part 12 and the Simplified Acquisition Procedures set forth in FAR Part 13.Questions regarding this acquisition must be submitted in writing (e-mail is preferred)no later than [11/30/2010]. (Prospective quoters shall notify this office of theirintent to submit a quotation). It is the quoter's responsibility to monitor this site forthe release of amendments (if any).
