- Description
- The 309th Software Maintenance Group SMXG/OBA, 519th Software Maintenance Squadron SMXS/MXDEC is responsible for Human Engineering Development System (HEDS) F-16 Operational Flight Program prototyping dome simulator program. The HEDS group is in the process of building two 360 degree field of view dome F-16 simulation systems. Currently, Aechelon Technology is contracted to supply an F-16 Image Generator computer system for one of these domes. This is a request for information seeking sources capable of meeting the development for an Image Generator for the second dome which can be compatible and integrate with all of the components of the Aechelon F-16 Image Generator, including the software and database systems. The second dome image generator would need to render the Aechelon run time visual and sensor databases or be delivered with equivalent databases. The image generator must produce 30 channels visual and 5 channels of sensor to include FLIR, CCD and Radar. This requires integrating host software and cockpit interface software. The integration cost must also include integrating the HEDS group's plug-in software for drawing symbology on the 5 Sensor channels on Multi Function Displays. Please estimate any costs to do this integration and why it would be feasible. When responding please include: 1. Company Name and Cage code. 2. Who is your POC please provide email address and phone number. 3. Experiences with same or similar items, please describe. 4. Suggested NAICS Code. 5. Business Size Classification for NAICS and qualifications if any as any sub-category. (i.e. 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, etc.) 6. Would you be a prime or subcontractor? 7. Lead Time for the task performance. 8. Would you be supplying the image generator as a manufacturer or a distributor? 9. Would you be able to use any of the current image generator? 10. Would you need an industry day to examine the current structure or system? 11. What specifications would you recommend? 12. What type of software maintenance contract would you be able to provide? The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of these sources sought or to otherwise pay for the information solicited. The information provided is considered market research and may be utilized by the AF in developing its acquisition strategy, Statement of Objectives, and Performance Specifications. Any proprietary information that is submitted may be used as a general concept but specific information will be safeguarded as proprietary, if so marked. Interested offerors should send a response to the sources sought inquiry and the questions listed above to the Contract Negotiator. Responses should be submitted by 4:00 pm MST on 6 December 2010.
