Description

Notice of Intent - Louisville District Corps of Engineers intends to source Cisco 2811 routers under solicitation number W912QR-11-R-0007 for the Installation and Maintenance of an Intrusion Detection System at WPAFB, OH. The acquisition strategy is a service procurement and the estimated award date is December 2010. Wright-Patterson Air Force Base has standardized on Cisco networking equipment in order to reduce operations cost through a standardized platform. Having a standardized platform allows for a reduction in system training costs, reduction in the cost of spare equipment, and a reduction in cost in the network monitoring tools. Also standardizing on Cisco networking equipment allows the installation to maintain compliance with the Air Force Network Operations Command (AFNETOPS) Network structure. This announcement is for informational purposes only. This is NOT a request for competitive proposals; however, all responses received within ten (10) calendar days of the date of this publication will be considered by the Government. Information received will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to compete the requirement. A determination by the Government to not compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
