- Description
- The U.S. Army, Joint Munitions and Lethality Life Cycle Management Command has a requirement for a modification to the Spider Contractor Logistical Support (CLS) contract (W15QKN-08-C-0517). It is the Governments intent to solicit, negotiate and award on a sole source basis to the Spider Joint Venture (JV) of Alliant Techsystems, Inc and Textron Systems Corp under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. FAR 6.302-1 is considered applicable as the effort being acquired represents a bridge effort between the System Development and Demonstration and Low Rate Initial Production Phase of the Spider Program and commencement of full rate production. The JV is the only contractor capable of performing this bridge effort as award to any other source would result in unacceptable delays resulting in a discontinuation of CLS. The period of performance for this extension will be approximately six months. No Request for Proposal (RFP) will be issued with respect to this procurement. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals.
