Description
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS), no solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. This is not a Request for Proposal (RFP) or an Invitation for Bid (IFB), nor is it to be construed as a commitment by the US Government to form a binding contract. Companies that respond (Respondees) will not be paid for the information submitted. The Air Force is hereby soliciting capability statements from interested sources for the purchase of a Boeing 737-700IGW/BBJ aircraft. PURPOSE: This SSS is to gather comments and potential sources for purchasing a 737-700IGW/BBJ aircraft which will be eventually converted into a C-40C aircraft. As these aircraft are operated within the intent of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) 14CFR Part 121, the offered aircraft must currently be maintained in compliance with the operators Maintenance Program as approved by the Airworthiness Authority and be delivered in compliance with, or be able to meet the requirements for FAA Standard Airworthiness Certification as defined in FAA Advisory Circular 21-12B, dated 11/06/01. BACKGROUND: The USAF currently supports 6 each C-40C type aircraft that are operated and maintained by the Air National Guard (ANG) and the Air Force Reserve Command (AFRC). These aircraft are converted 737-700IGW/BBJ's (Increased Cross Weight / Boeing Business Jets). Respondees should be aware that it is the intent of the USAF to have the aircraft interior modified to comply with a specific Layout of Passenger Accommodation (LOPA) which will not be provided with this SSS. INFORMATION/FORMAT: Respondees to this announcement shall provide the following information: Aircraft Model, Manufacturers Serial Number, Current Aircraft Registration Number, Date of Manufacture, Aircraft Owner, Total Aircraft and Engine Time, Total Aircraft and Engine Cycles, Engine Type, APU Type, APU Total Time, APU Total Cycles, Fuel Tank Configuration & Number Installed, Fuel Tank Manufacturer (STC Holder), VIP Interior STC Type (LOPA if available). REQUEST FOR INFORMATION REQUIREMENTS: Request Respondees submit two copies of the response to this SSS in an executive summary format not to exceed five (5) pages no later than 15 Dec 2010 to Beth McDonald at beth.mcdonald@wpafb.af.mil. No faxes, mail or phone calls will be accepted. If your response includes information you consider proprietary, please mark the information accordingly. Please do not include company brochures or other marketing information.
