- The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement for a post construction award services (PCAS) for the repairs of gears and controllers for elevators 1-4 in building 101 NIST Gaithersburg Campus. The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis to Technical Inspection Inc. (TII) under the authority of 41 USC 253(c )(1) Only one responsible source. As required by the National Certification of Elevator Systems Inspectors, the original engineering documents for the project were signed, sealed, and dated by a professional engineer employed by TII, who had either prepared or approved the documents. As such, TII assumed liability for the design represented by the project engineering documents. In order to maintain a single source of liability any correction, revisions, or additions required to be made to the project are required to be made by the professional engineer, or a representative within the company, who originally signed and sealed the documents. The anticipated award date of this order is on or about fifteen (15) days from the date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement in writing, no later than the response date. Written responses to this notice shall contain sufficient documentation to establish a bona fide capability to fulfill the requirement. A determination by the government whether to compete this proposed requirement based upon response to this notice is solely with the discretion of the government.
