- Description
- The United States Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for HUBZone concerns, for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business Concerns (SDVOSB), or for Small Business. The small business size standard is less than 1000 employees. The NAICS Code is 336611. This acquisition is to provide dockside repairs for the USCGC MALLET (WLIC-75304) in Corpus Christi, TX. The period of performance will be twenty five (25) calendar days and is expected to begin on or about 07 FEB 2011 and end on or about 04 MARCH 2011. The scope of the acquisition is to provide various repairs including but not limited to: Tanks (Potable Water), Clean & Inspect, Main Diesel Engine (MDE) Exhaust Stack Uptakes, Clean; Ship Service Diesel Generator (SSDG) Exhaust Piping, Clean; Vent Ducts (Galley & Pantry Room All), Commercial Cleaning, Tanks (Potable Water), Preserve”100%” – Tender, Temporary Services, Provide, Pressure Gauges & Thermometers, Calibrate, Pyrometers & Thermocouples, Calibrate, Tachometers, Calibrate, Winch Foundation, Renew, Air Handler Unit, Renew; Composite Labor Rate, Travel and Per Diem and GFP Report. The place of performance will be at the USCGC Mallet’s home moorings located at 1201 Navigation Blvd., Corpus Christi, TX 78402. All welding and brazing shall be accomplished by trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures. At the present time, the acquisition is expected to be issued as a small business set aside. However; in accordance with FAR 19.1305 if your firm is HUBZone certified, or 19.1403 if your firm is Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, or 19.5 Set-Asides for Small Business and intends to submit an offer on the acquisition, please respond by e-mail to Alice.M.Mariner@uscg.mil or by fax (757) 628-4585. In your response please include the following: (a) positive statement of your intent to submit a bid for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contact numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact, and telephone numbers; (c) past performance references with points of contact and phone numbers. At least two (2) references are requested, but more are desirable. Your response is required by 08 DEC 2010 by 1:00PM EST. Contractors are reminded that should this acquisition become a HUBZone set aside, SDVOSB set aside, or Small Business set aside, FAR 52.219-3 Notice of Total HUBZone or 52.219-27, Notice of Total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business set aside, or 52.214-6, will apply, which requires that at least fifty one (51) percent of the cost of personnel for contract performance be spent for employees of the concern or employees of other HUBZone small business concerns.
