- Special Notice: The U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC), National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Weather Service (NWS), National Reconditioning Center (NRC) is awarding a Purchase Order for the repair services of the following equipment: 12 each Sensor, Ice Free Wind (IFW) ASOS Model 425NWS (WS425D7A1C), ASN: S100-2A8MT3A2 to Vaisala, Inc. Sole Source Justification: The Government only knows of one source, Vaisala, Inc. Multiple searches of the Small Business Administration (SBA) Dynamic Small Search did not identify any small business available to compete for this service. Search parameters included a combination of: NAICS codes ‘334511 and 334519' and key words: ‘repair, ice free, wind sensors, Vaisala'; and just key words: ‘repair, ice free, wind sensors, Vaisala'; ‘repair, ice free, wind sensors'; ‘repair, ultrasonic, wind sensors'; and ‘ultrasonic, wind sensors'. Searches of 'Repair ice free wind sensors' and 'Repair ultrasonic wind sensors' in GSA's eLibrary also returned no matches. On December 1, 2010, a sources sought was posted on FedBizOpps for 10 days and no responses were received from this posting.
