Description
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to acquire additional quantities of Life Cycle Support for the F/A-18 series aircraft in support of the Commander, Naval Reserve Forces Command (CNRFC), Norfolk, VA. The Contractor will provide increased quantities of support to include depot level maintenance; emergency repair; aircraft modification; engineering; logistics; program management support and associated material as may be required to support the continued safe, reliable and available operation of the aircraft cited above. The Government intends to acquire this support on an other than full and open competitive basis from the Boeing Company, 6211 Aviation Avenue, Jacksonville, FL 32215 under the authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), 'Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements', as implemented by FAR 6.302-1. The additional quantities of life cycle support will be procured via a modification to the existing Indefinite Delivery, Requirements type contract with the Boeing Company for this support, N00189-08-D-Z028. The additional hours to be added to the contract, estimated at approximately 192,000 hours, are necessary to meet unforeseen Government requirements for F/A-18 support anticipated during the remaining period of the contract.
