Description
Notice of Intent to Issue Sole Source AwardThe Department of the Interior, National Business Center, Acquisition Services Directorate (AQD) intends to award a sole source contract under the authority of FAR Part 6.302-1, 10 U.S.C. 2304(c) (1), to Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), 77 Massachusetts Avenue E19-750, Cambridge MA, 02139-4307, for a subscription to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's (MIT) Industrial Liaison Program (ILP). The MIT Industrial Liaison program is an international program that facilitates technology knowledge to about 200 companies and government agencies. They operate within MIT's Office of Corporate Relations. They leverage what many experts believe to be the world's most successful technology and knowledge transfer programs, and they are a leader in the development of innovative tools and methods for facilitating successful university/industry collaboration. It is the intent to purchase a one year subscription with the option to purchase additional one year subscriptions for up to four years. Supplies or Services Required: This is a requirement to renew the U.S. Army, Rapid Equipping Force (REF) subscription to the MIT ILP. Subscription to MIT ILP provides streamlined access to MITs intellectual capital, providing a customized program that is tailored to the U.S. Army Rapid Equipping Forces requirements. The services include a MIT Industrial Liaison Officer (ILO), who will arrange planning and information technology discussions with the U.S. Army and the Rapid Equipping Force (REF) and ensure technology collaboration with other government agencies, national and DoD laboratories, industry and academia.This unique program connects the REF with the people and programs that help the organization to stay abreast of new technology developments:- Gain insight into a variety of issues related to current needs of the War-fighters - Learn and exploit new opportunities to mitigate/stop battlefield causalities and injuries- Anticipate changes in battlefield conditions Specific services provided include: - Facilitated interactions with faculty, including private meetings with MIT experts and customized workshops - A stream of information serving the U.S. Army's needs and interests, including industry overviews, research reports and articles - Admission to MIT Conferences and events, typically provided at no additional cost, offering opportunities to network with industry and MIT colleagues - Access to the Knowledge-Base, placing relevant faculty and research information at your fingertips to explore emerging technologies that may impact the War-fighter, learn about relevant research and identify faculty members working in areas of interest The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 611310, Colleges, Universities, and Professional Schools, $7 million. This is not a request for proposals and no solicitation is forthcoming. However, firms that believe they can provide these services in their entirety must submit a written notification of interest and capability to the Contract Specialist by the date and time indicated. Information received will be considered solely for the purposes of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. AQD will not be responsible for any costs incurred by responding to this notice. This notice in no way obligates the Government to award any contract.
