Center Name:Gulfport Job Corps Center Location:Gulfport, Mississippi I.SOURCES SOUGHT TEXT –Construction and Demolition Total built cost range is more than $10,000,000.00. This work is planned to take place between June 2011 and July 2012 Response Date: January 20, 2011 @3:00pm est - The U.S. Department of Labor (USDOL) wishes to procure a contractor to perform Construction and Demolition services. This is a SOURCES SOUGHT ANNOUNCEMENT for planning purposes only. Market research is being conducted to determine if there are businesses that qualify under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 19 with the capabilities and experience to perform the required work. All interested parties are invited to submit a capabilities statement, NOT TO EXCEED FOUR PAGES, to include three projects completed within the last five years that are relevant to the work that will be required under this project. Furthermore all capability STATEMENTS MUST IDENTIFY THE PROGRAM(S) UNDER FAR PART 19 THAT APPLY TO THEIR COMPANY. Provide a point of contact for each project listed. Electronic versions of your capabilities statement shall be submitted VIA E-MAIL ONLY TO: holst.miriam@dol.gov. (Miriam J. Holst, Contract Specialist,) EST. NO TELEPHONE CALLS WILL BE ACCEPTED. PLEASE NOTE THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 236220. The Small Business Size Standard is $33.5 million. PROSPECTIVE BIDDERS MUST BE REGISTERED IN THE CENTRAL CONTRACTOR REGISTRATION (CCR). Information regarding registration can be found at http://www.ccr.gov/. ALSO ENSURE THAT ONLINE REPRESENTATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS ARE UPDATED IN ORCA at http://orca.bpn.gov/. The work involves two phases of construction: Phase 2A: Main Building, Cafeteria, Vocation/Storage-Maintenance Building, demolition of existing buildings numbered 1, 2 and 5 and associated site work. Phase 2B: Recreation Building, demolition of existing building Number 9 and modular facility, and associated site work. Phase 2A includes the abatement and demolition of several existing buildings, preparation of geotechnical wick drain and surcharge system for three new building sites; construction of the new Main Building, Cafeteria, and the Vocation/Storage-Maintenance Building; chiller yard and associated site work. During the course of this phase, existing center operations involving the modular facility and buildings number 9 (maintenance and storage) and 10 (dormitory) shall be maintained, requiring close coordination of temporary utilities and services with the center operator, as well as coordination with various utility companies. The estimated square footages of the new buildings are as follows: Main Building – 35,620; Cafeteria - 9,280; Vocation/Storage-Maintenance – 31,000. The soil consolidation required once the wick drain/surcharge system is installed will be specified in the solicitation documents. Phase 2B includes the demolition of Building Number 9 and the modular facility; and the construction of the new Recreation Building, which is situated on augered pile foundations, and associated sitework, including that required to complete the Phase 2A, utility installations. Subsequent to substantial completion of Phase 2A, the center operator shall move into the new buildings from the modular facility and building number 9 prior to their demolition. This will require a period of time (to be specified in the solicitation documents), and will require that the General Contractor remobilize for this phase. The estimated square footage of the recreation building is 20,320.
