Description
SMALL BUSINESS NETWORKING SESSION: Mobile, Alabama. Construction Manager as agent (CMa) contract for the proposed New Mobile Courthouse, Mobile, Alabama. The Government intends to award one contract for CMa Services. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL. On Monday, January 10, 2011 @ 2:00pm - 5:00pm, The United States General Services Administration (GSA), will conduct a Networking Session for Small Business Construction Management and/or related firms who may be interested in interviewing with the Short Listed CMa Firms as possible consultants (subcontractors) for the CMa contract for the New Mobile Courthouse. This Networking Session will be conducted in the Alabama Service Center, GSA Public Building Service 201 Saint Michael Street, Mobile, Alabama 36602. The contract to be awarded will be a firm-fixed price Construction Manager as agent (CMa) for the proposed New Mobile Courthouse. The Estimated Construction Cost for this project is $100,000,000 to $125,000,000. The Government's program objectives for the CMa contract is to provide a variety of project management services including, but not limited to: pre-planning, programming, design management, design review, procurement support, construction management, commissioning, and post-construction support in cooperation with GSA (owner) personnel, building occupants (as GSA clients), architect-engineers, and construction contractors. The CMa does not perform design or actual construction work. All contracts for design and construction will be directly with GSA. The level of services required by the CM is dependent on GSA's available resources. Further, the CMa shall plan, schedule, coordinate, and assure effective performance of all services described in statement of work. The CMa shall provide a sufficient staff of project managers, field engineers, superintendents, architects, engineers, inspection and testing engineers, schedulers, estimators, clerical and accounting personnel, etc. to perform the required work. It is anticipated that the CMa will supplement the core staff throughout all phases with other employees, consultants and subcontractors who will support the core staff on a daily basis and/or bring special skills and expertise to the project. For additional information regarding the actual CMa procurement, please go to www.FedBizOpps.Gov for the official project announcement. Small Business Subcontracting Networking Sessions are intended to affirm GSA's recognition of the talent that exists in the Small Business Community and its commitment to opening a dialogue between qualified Small Business Firms in that community which may be qualified to bid as consultants on this contract. At this Networking Session, Small Business firms capable of providing Construction Management and/or related services will be given an opportunity to meet the GSA Project Team, listen to an explanation of the scope of the contract and the contract procedures and methods, to participate in a question and answer session with Project Team members, and to interview one-on-one with the Short Listed Firms. All participants need to be aware that the Federal government is prohibited by law from attempting to influence the selection or non-selection of consultants / subcontractors. Any contracts which may result from an interview at this session will be strictly private sector arrangements. The Government will not be a party to them. IF YOU PLAN TO ATTEND PLEASE SUBMIT ELECTRONIC CONFIRMATION TO paulal.mensah@gsa.gov ADVANCE NOTICE IS NOT REQUIRED FOR ATTENDANCE. Questions about this Small Business Networking Session should be directed to Paula Mensah, Lead Contracting Officer, paulal.mensah@gsa.gov or David Gibson, GSA's Small Business Advocate for The Public Buildings Service in The Southeast Sunbelt Region (404) 331-2366, E-Mail DavidA.Gibson@GSA.GOV.
