Description
Pre-Solicitation Notice: The Central Texas Veterans Health Care System (CTVHSC) Contracting Office (90C) anticipates awarding Firm Fixed Price construction contract for the Renovation of Building 8, Project No. 674A4-512, located at the VA Medical Center, 4800 Memorial Drive, Waco, Texas. Project work is necessary to renovate building 8 for the Acute Mental Health Center. Work shall consist of, but is not limited to; Contractor shall provide all labor, materials and equipment necessary for the renovation and addition to Building 8 for the Mental Health Center of Excellence at the VA Medical Center, Waco, Texas in accordance with the plans and specifications. Building 8 is a 3 story 46,537 gsf historic 1930's era structure on the Historic Preservation Plan for the campus. The project includes demolition and removal of existing structures, utilities, vegetation, site fixtures, and paving; excavation; lead and asbestos abatement, demolition and removal of interior construction, including partitions, stairs, floor slabs, doors, frames, hardware, windows, equipment and fixtures; demolition of wall, floor, and ceiling finishes; demolition and removal of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems and components; restoration and replacement of existing historic finishes, including terra cotta, cast stone, brick, clay roof tile, gutters and downspouts, glazing, steel windows, and plaster finishes; construction of new partitions, frames, doors, hardware, glass, glazing, windows, storefront systems, railings, screens, millwork/casework, and thermal and moisture protection; new wall, ceiling and floor finishes; new structural framing, floors and roof; new structural carbon fiber reinforcement; site work, including utilities, landscaping, irrigation, sidewalks, parking and other paving; new MEP systems and subsystems (both interior and exterior), new cabling; new interior and exterior signage; and other accessories. The method of procurement shall be a Invitation for Bid (IFB) in accordance with Parts 14 and 36 of the FAR, with anticipated issue date on or before 1 February 2011 and proposed due date of March 15, 2011. This requirement is a competitive offer, Set Aside 100% for SERVICE DISABLED VETERAN OWNED SMALL BUSINES (SDVOSB), under Public Law 109-461 (38 USC 8127). The applicable NAISC code is 236220, $33.5 Mil. COST RANGE: $5,000,000.00 - $10,000,000.00
