General Information Document Type: Sources Sought Notice Solicitation Number: RKB-11-8401 YAG/SLT/PHOTOCOAGULATOR LASER Classification Code: 65 - Medical, Dental, and Hospital Equipment and Supplies Merchant Wholesalers Naics Code: 423450 -- Contracting Office Address Healthcare Acquisition Activity-North (HCAA), Detrick Army Air Force Contracting Cell, 693 Neiman Street, Fort Detrick, MD 21702-9203 The Healthcare Acquisition Activity-North (HCAA), seeks information on commercial vendors that are capable of providing a system that is equipped with the YAG, SLT, and photocoagulator lasers, After results of this market research are obtained and analyzed and specifications are developed for a system that can meet HCAA's minimum requirements, HCAA may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a Purchase Order. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then any competitive procurement that resulted would be conducted as a small business set-aside. HCAA has a need for one (1) All-in-one laser system - 3, lasers, 1 platform, maximum flexibility that would meet the following requirements: 1.Yag, photocoagulator and SLT combination laser. 2.Q-Switched frequency - doubled 532 nm laser for selective laser trabeculoplasty, the choice of therapy for minimally-invasive treatment of primary open-angle glaucoma 3.1064 nm Nd: Yag - the essential photodisruptor for point and shoot capsulotomy and iridotomy 4.Laser beam spot size 400um at visual focal plane 5.Electrical Requirements: 100-240 VAC, 50/60Hz, 3.15 Amps 6.Wheelchair accessible, travel 250mm (10.4 in) S-link (GA-0020310) 7.532 nm fixed ESF Laser Link 8.Zeiss style laser link 50-1000 micron spot size telescope 9.Micromanipulator, 532 mn fixed ESF, SMA 906, and Compatible with a Family of Lasers only 10.532 nm Photocoagulator - Proven diode pumped solid state (DPSS) technology for the treatment of retinal conditions 11.One Year Warranty HCAA is seeking responses from all responsible sources. Small businesses are defined under the associated NAICS code for this effort, 423450, as those domestic sources having 500 employees or less. Please include your company's size classification in any response to this notice. Companies that are able to provide the above equipment are requested to email a detailed report describing their abilities to Keith.Batchelor@us.army.mil no later than the response date for this sources sought notice. The report should include achievable specifications and any other information relevant to your product or capabilities. Also, the following information is requested to be provided as part of the response to this sources sought notice: 1. Name of the company that manufactures the system components for which specifications are provided. 2. Name of company(ies) that are authorized to sell the system components, their addresses, and a point of contact for the company (name, phone number, fax number and email address). 3. Indication of number of days, after receipt of order that is typical for delivery of such systems. 4. Indication of whether each instrument for which specifications are sent to Keith.Batchelor@us.army.mil are currently on one or more GSA Federal Supply Schedule contracts and, if so, the GSA FSS contract number(s). 5. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing its minimum specifications and finalizing its market research.
