Description

VISN 1 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate and procure on a sole source basis the Perclose ® A-T Suture-Medicated Closure System and StarClose ® SE Vascular Closure System. Abbott Vascular, located in Temecula, CA is the sole manufacturer of these items. These items have been approved by the FDA. There are other vascular closure devices on the market; however the VA believes the Perclose ® and StarClose ® systems are superior to others. Items are called in, as needed. QUANTITIES ARE NOT GUARANTEED AND MAY FLUCTUATE DEPENDING ON PATIENT NEEDS. Estimated usage for VISN 1 for the Perclose ® is seventy (70) boxes per year. Estimated usage for VISN 1 for the StarClose ® SE Vascular Closure System is fifty (50) cases per year. This procurement is being conducted under FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other vendor or product will satisfy agency requirements. To the best of our knowledge, Abbott Vascular is the only manufacturer of the Perclose ® A-T Suture-Medicated Closure System and StarClose ® SE Vascular Closure System. The NAICS 339113 with a size standard of 500 employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Specialist within five (5) business days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. This information should be emailed directly to Heather Simpson, heather.simpson3@va.gov. Responses will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
