Description
FOR INFORMATION PURPOSES ONLY CLOSES 18 JANUARY 2011 THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS FOR MARKET RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY AND SHOULD NOT BE CONSTRUED AS A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THE SUBMISSION OF THIS INFORMATION IS FOR PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. IT IS NOT TO BE CONSTRUED AS A COMMITMENT BY THE GOVERNMENT TO PROCURE ANY SERVICES, NOR DOES THE MIDDLE EAST DISTRICT INTEND TO AWARD A CONTRACT ON THE BASIS OF THIS REQUEST FOR INFORMATION OR OTHERWISE PAY FOR THE INFORMATION SOLICITED. The US Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division has been requested by the Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan (CSTC-A) to expedite the execution of the $8B FY11-14 Afghanistan National Security Forces (ANSF) program. The ANSF program consists of the Afghanistan National Army (ANA), the Afghanistan National Police (ANP), and the Operation and Maintenance of ANA and ANP facilities. Multiple courses of action are being employed to achieve this acceleration of work. Some of the buildings at Army Kandaks are being changed to K-span construction as a time-saving action. The remaining projects will employ standard designs and construction materials/methods. All sizes and nationalities of contractors with the proven ability to perform the work will be considered during the construction contract solicitation process. Kandaks are configured in a variety of ways. They can support from 650 to 5500 troops and have from 16 to 135 buildings. Building types include battalion HQ, administration, barracks, latrines, DFACs, storage, maintenance, training, fire station, DPW, medical, MWR, and operations. Utility infrastructure includes generators, package waste water treatment plants, communication, and potable water. RESPONSE REQUIREMENTS: It is requested all interested firms complete the items identified in the attached list of inquiries. The attachment can be found under the Additional Information section of this announcement. Please provide the completed response via e-mail to Ms. Alicia N. Weber at Alicia.N.Weber@usace.army.mil AND Ms. Deborah Brown at Deborah.A.Brown@usace.army.mil. PLEASE PROVIDE THE REQUESTED INFORMATION NO LATER THAN 18 JANUARY 2011. The submission of this information is for planning purposes only. It is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government to procure any services, nor does the US Army Corps of Engineers Transatlantic Division intend to award a contract on the basis of this request for information or otherwise pay for the information solicited.
