- The Bureau of Reclamation, Pacific Northwest Region, has a requirement for a construction contract to modify the Chandler Canal Fish Facility Fish Return, for the Yakima Project, Washington. Principal components of the work consist of installing a cofferdam and dewatering the river at the outlet of the new fish return pipe; installing warning and danger signs for boaters; demolishing part of the floor and excavating to install pipe inside the Juvenile Fish Evaluation Facility, including saw cutting concrete, excavating concrete, excavating soil, shoring, protection of the interior of the Juvenile Fish Evaluation Facility from dust and debris, and protection of the Juvenile Fish Evaluation Facility structure from settling and damage; installing buried 36-inch diameter HDPE irrigation pipe inside the Juvenile Fish Evaluation Facility, including cutting a new opening and modifying the concrete wall of the downwell to accept the pipe, furnishing and laying the pipe, placing controlled low strength material to support the haunches of the pipe, pulling shoring, backfilling the pipe trench, compacting the backfill and installing a new reinforced concrete floor (contractor design of sharing and excavation, and monitoring of settlement and distortion required); installing buried 36-inch diameter HDPE irrigation pipe from the Juvenile Fish Evaluation Facility to the pipe encasement at the bank of the Yakima River including excavating the pipe trench, furnishing and laying the pipe, placing controlled low strength material to support the haunches of the pipe, backfilling the trench and compacting backfill in the trench; installing the pipe encasement and the pipe support pier structures at the outlet of the new fish return pipe, including excavating for the structures, placing reinforced concrete for the structures, backfilling, placing riprap, and compacting backfill about the structures; installing 36-inch diameter steel pipe at the outlet of the new fish return pipe, including fabricating and furnishing large diameter carbon steel pipe, painting large diameter carbon steel pipe, placing large diameter steel pipe onto the pipe encasement and pipe support pier, and anchoring the large diameter steel pipe; and surveying for construction control. The work will be performed at the Juvenile Fish Evaluation Facility at the Yakima River approximately mile east of Prosser, Washington in Benton County. This requirement is set-aside for HUBZone small business concerns. This requirement will be acquired using sealed bid procedures. The estimated dollar range of this procurement is $500,000 to $1,000,000. The North American Classification System (NAICS) code is 237990 and the small business size standard is $33.5 million in gross annual receipts averaged over the previous three 1-year accounting periods.
