- a. General: This project consist of construct a new kitchen facility as part of an existing school located in San Blas, Comarca Kuna Yala, Panama R. Panama to include a dining room, storage room, cabinets, partition walls, walls tiles, floor tiles and sidewalks. Contractor also shall construct a 1000 gallons water storage system and electric pump. The project includes fire alarm system, smoke detectors and portable fire extinguishers. Grid coordinates for this location are N 08 56"36.1" and W 77 45'15.3" Dimensions for The kitchen, dining room, and storage an approximate area of 106.5 square meters. Construction of this kitchen facility shall provide meals for students attending the existing school. b.The proposed contract shall furnish all management, supervision, labor, equipment, material, transportation, and supplies. Work shall include footer, slab, walls, roof, plumbing, new sewer system, electrical, painting exterior and interior walls addition, carpentry, storage water tank,. Construction work shall consist of site surveying and preparation. The work shall comply with all applicable codes; and Contractor shall perform vector control spraying in the kitchen once it is completed. c. Place of Performance: The project site will be in Panama Republic of Panama area of San Blas Comarca Kuna Yala, Comunidad de Mulatupo., located in southern Panama, approximately 270 km southwest of Panama City. d. Due to the close proximity of this project to the border with Colombia and the location being a high risk area, recommend that all interested sources, both local and U.S. check the U.S. State Department travel advisory website for any travel advisory information for that location. e. Contract Information: The award will be based on Lowest Priced, Technically Acceptable Offer (LPTA) best value acquisition which will be cited in the solicitation. The period of performance of this contract is based on 180 calendar days. Contract type shall be firm fixed price. The estimated construction cost for this project is between $100.000 and $250,000 dollars. f. There will be NO design services included in this contract. g. Obtaining the solicitation: The solicitation will be issued unrestricted to allow U.S. and non U.S. firms to participate. The solicitation, including drawings and specifications, will be available for download from FedBizOpps - website: http://www.fbo.gov. The solicitation, and the associated documents for this project, will not be issued on CD unless there are technical difficulties that cannot be promptly corrected on the FedBizOpps website. All notifications of changes to this solicitation will be made through the Internet only. It is the contractor's responsibility to check for any posted changes to the solicitation. The solicitation and any future amendments to the solicitation will be available for download via the FedBizOpps website on or about 28 January 2011.
