Description

The Department of the Interior, Bureau of Land Management (BLM), requires a contractor operated and maintained airplane, as specified by the solicitation, for exclusive use smokejumper support. BLM requires a multi-engine, high wing, airplane for transporting and dropping smokejumpers and paracargo as directed by the Government. The airplane's designated base is Boise, Idaho; however, the contractor and its airplane will be subject to dispatch anywhere in the lower 48 United States. The solicitation's performance period is for one year with four individual option years. The annual exclusive use period is 90 days during which payment of daily availability is guaranteed. After the 90-day exclusive use period expires, aircraft services may be extended by mutual agreement of the parties. Any extension of aircraft services will be on a day-by-day basis, as determined by the Government, but shall not exceed 45 days. The anticipated issue date of the solicitation is January 21, 2011, and offers will be due on February 8, 2010, unless an extension for submission of offers is authorized by an amendment to the solicitation. The solicitation will be posted on the Federal Business Opportunities website as well as at http://amd.nbc.gov under 'Business Opportunities'. This solicitation is set aside for small businesses. The NAICS code is 481211, Nonscheduled Chartered Air Passenger Transportation, and the small business size standard is 1,500 employees. The apparent successful offeror must be registered in the Central Contractor Registry (CCR) to be awarded the contract.
