- VA-797-11-RI-0043 REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) FOR NEEDLELESS SYSTEMS RFI closes February 1, 2011, 4:00 pm Central Standard Time The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) National Acquisition Center (NAC) intends to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for Needleless Systems. VA NAC wishes to learn if there are customary commercial practices in the market place regarding the specifications and packaging of Needleless Systems items. This is an effort to ensure the specifications are not overly restrictive or unreasonable. Please submit any suggestions, questions, comments on specifications; and/or information, including product literature/brochures describing your firm's ability interest to provide these items. Latex free 2. Luer lock 3. Priming volume of 0.1 ml or less 4. One piece component construction 5. Port does not leak 6. Sterile NEEDLELESS SYSTEM, EXTENSION SET WITH VALVE PORT (NO FILTER) Intended Use: A needleless system to provide direct infusion of fluids or administration of medications along with piggybacking on existing IV system. System to allow aspiration of medications from a vial without the use of needles. 1. Latex free 2. Port site does not leak 3. Must be offered in macrobore, microbore and small bore 4. Luer lock at both ends 5. Single piece construction 6. Must be offered in 1 and 2 valve port styles 7. Sliding clamp 8. Extension set is minimum of 5 inches and maximum of 10 inches in length 9. Sterile NEEDLELESS SYSTEM, DISPENSING PIN Intended Use: A needleless system to provide direct infusion of fluids or administration of medications along with piggybacking on existing IV system. System to allow aspiration of medications from a vial without the use of needles. 1. Latex free 2. Dispensing pin does not leak 3. Single piece component construction 4. Shielded spike action 5. One-way valve 6. Sterile packaging.
