- CDC Industry Day Brasilia, Brazil The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Office of Procurement and Grants, in conjunction with the CDC field offices from the countries of Brazil and Angola will be conducting a Pre-Solicitation Industry Day for Behavioral and Serologic Surveillance (BSS) projects in Angola to support the Angola Ministry of Health, MinisInstituto Nacional de Luta contra a SIDA (INLS). The Industry Day will be held in Brasilia, Brazil on February 10 - 11, 2011. The meeting will provide interested contractors with an overview of the BSS Projects and an opportunity to gather more information prior to the solicitation being issued. An information exchange for interested parties on how to do business with the USG will also be conducted. The Industry Day session will be held at US Embassy Brasilia, SES- Av. das Nações, Quadra 801, Lote 03 70403-900 Brasília - DF Brazil. The Government will not compensate industry participants for travel, lodging, or any other expenses associated with this event. The purpose of this Industry Day is to brief interested parties on the business requirements which will be included in the forthcoming BSS solicitations. The agenda will include a general business overview of the contract requirements and applicable timeframes; contract structure and process; evaluation criteria as a basis for award. In addition, a scientific overview of the unique contract requirements for research will be provided. CDC anticipates the issuance of at least three solicitation documents as an outcome of this event. The solicitations will contain a Statement of Objectives (SOO) to which potential contractors must provide its most efficient approach to the accomplishment of these projects. Anticipated solicitations are as follows: 1. Behavioral and Serological Survey for HIV and Syphilis Among Long Distance Transportation Workers in Cunene and Luanda, Angola 2. Behavioral and Serological Survey for HIV and Syphilis Among Prisoners in Angola 3. Behavioral and Serological Survey for HIV and Syphilis Among Mining Workers in Lunda Norte and Lunda Sul, Angola This notice does not constitute an invitation for bids, a request for proposal, or a request for quote. This notice is not a commitment by the U.S. Government to enter into any acquisition for any products or services. The Government will not pay for any efforts expended or any material provided in response to this announcement. All interested parties must respond in writing including ID or passport number, full name as it appears on the ID/passport and office/organization affiliation to the contract specialist, Ms. Gwendolyn Cody, (e-mail: DVV1 @cdc.gov ) as well as the program coordinator, Ms. Myrian Carvalho (e-mail: myrian.carvalho@aids.gov.br) by January 27, 2011, advising of their intent to attend the Industry Day.
