- NASA/KSC has a requirement for an Optigo 10 Mapping System with LFOV Lens set, andapplication engineering support.NASA/KSC intends to purchase the items from Hexagon Metrology Incorporated, 250 CircuitDrive, North Kingstown, RI 02852The Optigo 10 GSI mapping system is required to meet requirements to scan the lowerexterior surface of all three orbiters. The Optigo 10 GSI mapping system is required towork in conjunction with the Optigo 200 measurement system which is already in use atKSC. The two systems need to be configured to operate in unison by Hexagon Metrologyengineers, and KSC personnel will be instructed on the proper usage of the equipment tomeet the Shuttle program scanning requirements. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.Interested organizations may submit their capabilities and qualifications to perform theeffort in writing to the identified point of contact not later than 3:30 p.m. local timeon February 02, 2011. Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for thepurpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and opencompetition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretionof the government.Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice.All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency.NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.
