Description
Notice of Contract Action. This is not a solicitation of offers. Under the authority of 41 USC 253(c)(1) (FAR 6.302-1 Only one responsible source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements), the Department of Veterans Affairs anticipates entering into a sole source acquisition for the services described in this notice. The vendor is The Society of General Internal Medicine (SGIM), 2501 M ST NW, STE 575, Washington, DC 20037-1306 (DUNS: 363568312). The Veterans Integrated Service Network “ New England (VISN 1) and Center for Information Dissemination and Education Resources (CIDER), Jamaica Plains, MA intend to acquire from the vendor peer review, editorial, publication and reprint services in the Journal of General Internal Medicine (JGIM). JGIM is the optimal conduit for publication of the research described below. A special journal supplement in the JGIM shall publish VA Health Service Research and Development Service (HSR&D), manuscripts written as products of a State of the Art (SOTA) conference. The supplement shall contain both original empirical studies and reviews addressing access to VA care including the following topics: Access Conceptual Framework, Review of Existing Measures of Access, The Influence of Race/Ethnicity, Gender, and Socioeconomic Status on Access to Care in the Veterans Healthcare System, E-patient Connectivity and the Near-Term Future of Care, IT Applications of Care Delivery that can Improve Access to Care: Home Telehealth and the Personal Health Record, Evidence Synthesis Report on Access, Research agenda for improving access to VA care and Editorials by VA leadership. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. The NAICS is 511120; the PSC is AN41. This notice is current through FAC 2005-48. A decision not to compete this requirement is based upon this notice, the responses hereto and the Justification for other than Full and Open Competition (JOFOC) to be posted to this web site.
