- Specification for the Manufacture of open link, welded steel chain and bridles The US Coast Guard seeks interest in manufacturing and delivery of small-size open-link, welded steel chain for use as mooring aids-to-navigation buoys in the coastal and inland waters of the United States. A copy of the specifications for manufacture is attached for reference. This is a sources sought/market survey announcement targeting companies that can provide all necessary materials, labor, equipment, facilities and supervision to fabricate and ship carbon steel small-size buoy chains. THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. This announcement is to gain industry information in the development of the acquisition plan and in no way obligates the government.
