Description

VISN 6 CAS will issue on or about March 15, 2011 RFP VA-246-11-RP-0012, Correct Research Deficiencies (Design/Build). Contractor shall provide all labor, material, tools, equipment, transportation, qualified supervision, and design services necessary for complete design of the electrical layout and plumbing layout and all components of construction to perform work for project 658-10-103. The design portion of the Project consists of providing design services for a complete electrical system for the South Wing of Building 76 conforming to basic guidance and needs as furnished by the government. Design shall also include basic plumbing design for sinks and restrooms in various locations on the First Floor. The construction portion of the Project includes, but is not limited to, demolition of various components of the existing electrical system in conformance with the approved design followed by installation of the approved new electrical system for the South Wing of Building 76 (new MRD space) including all required conduit, boxes, wall molding, wiring, new breakers, switches, lighting and other components for a complete and operational electrical installation. Work shall also include installation/reinstallation of light fixtures (some new, come existing). Construction work shall also include framing and drywall, installation of government-furnished frames and doors, installation of government-furnished ceiling grid and ceiling tile, installation of finishes, tile repair and painting, and other construction work as indicated on the drawings and specifications for a complete and functional space. Work shall also include any required masonry or drywall patching and patching and preparation of wall tile and toilet partitions in the restroom(s) to include painting. Work shall also include installation of sinks and plumbing components as well as installation of window air conditioning units. All work, including final inspection and completion of punchlist items shall be completed within one hundred and eighty (180) calendar days from receipt of the Notice to Proceed. The government will not accept a shorter schedule. The government anticipates award without discussions. NAICS 236220, Commercial and Institutional Building Construction, with a small business size standard of $34.5M applies to this procurement. The procurement is set-aside to qualified service-disabled, veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB). Offers from other than SDVOSB firms shall not be accepted. A pre-proposal conference will be held approximately two weeks after the issuance of the solicitation. The exact date, time, and location of the conference will be specified in the solicitation. There will be no public opening of the proposals. The estimated dollar amount of this procurement is between $250,000 - $500,000.
