Description
The U.S. Geological Survey, Coastal and Marine Geology Team in Menlo Park, California has a requirement to upgrade a DS-3 point to point circuit to a 1-Gbps Ethernet Private Line (EPL, aka Metro Ethernet) circuit, between USGS offices in Santa Cruz, CA and Menlo Park, CA. This data circuit will provide more bandwidth and infrastructure diversity to existing point to point circuits between Santa Cruz and Menlo Park. This will require the installation of the upgrade to a 1-Gbps Ethernet Private Line, as well as, one base year of service and 4 optional years of service. The installation shall be completed by mid-July 2011, with the base year of service beginning by 31 July 2011. The statement of work and additional specifications will be identified in the forthcoming solicitation. The Request for Quotation (RFQ), number G11PS00222, will be made available through the Government-wide Point of Entry (GPE), in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) 5.102(a)(1), on or about 16 March 2011. The Government anticipates award of a commercial, Firm-Fixed Price type contract. All firms must be registered in the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) database at www.ccr.gov, as well as, the Online Representations and Certifications Application (ORCA) to be considered for award. This notice and any resulting solicitation or contract conforms to the requirements in place through FAC 2005-48, effective 31 January 2011 (includes FAC 2005-49, effective 24 January 2011). This requirement is unrestricted. The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 517110, Wired Communication Carries and the size standard is $1,500 employees.
