- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION US Army Space and Missile Defense Commend/ Army Forces Strategic Command (USASMDC/ AMSTRAT) Contracting and Acquisition Management Office (CAMO), Redstone Arsenal, AL THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 15.201, this Request For Information (RFI) is for planning and informational purposes only and shall not be considered a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect cost or charges by the Goveernment will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this RFI or the Government's use of such information. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any contractor's input resulting from this RFI. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. Data submitted in response to this RFI will not be returned. Information is requested in order to make potential future requirements better for industry and the Government. 1.PURPOSE. This RFI is in support of the USASMDC/ ARSTRAT. The purpose is to seek available commercial systems sources capable of on-site just-in- time manufacturing of Hydrogen gas of a purity greater than 99% for use in lighter than air vehicles. 2.SCOPE. The system should be transportable via C130 aircraft, or semi-trailer, or smaller vehicle; self-powered, meet existing environmental standards, be capable of operation by a crew of 3 or non-MOS skilled operators, provide storage of raw materials, be capable of inflating the lighter than air vehicle, and minimize peculiar components. Also, monitoring equipment will be needed to determine the purity of the manufactured hydrogen gas. Other areas of interest include determining the effects of gun fire and other safety hazards upon a hydrogen filled vehicle, using combinations of helium and hydrogen mixed gases, pursuing air worthiness certification of hydrogen filled airships by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). 3.RESPONSES. Responses are due 30 days after the posting date of this RFI. Responses can be emailed to the Point of Contact (POC), hand delivered, or mailed to the address below. If hand delivered or mailed, include electronic copies. Questions regarding this announcement shall be submitted in writing by email to the POC. Verbal questions will not be accepted. Responses should not exceed ten (10) pages and must contain but not limited to the following information: (a)Capability statement which includes type of technology used (b)Budgetary estimates of cost and schedule (c)Technology Readiness Level (TRL) (d)Clearly marked information that is proprietary 4.POINT OF CONTACT.
