- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format found in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are being requested, and a separate written solicitation will not be issued. The solicitation number for this request is F11PS00314 and the solicitation is issued as a request for Quote (RFQ). The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and current Federal Acquisition Circular (FAC 05-48).This acquisition is 100% set aside for small business, the NAICS code is 811121 with a size standard of $7M STATEMENT OF WORK/SPECIFICATIONSThe resulting firm fixed price contract from this RFQ will be to to repair the gel coat as well as replace the emergency door leading from the bridge to the upper fly bridge on the 63' Bertram boat in Kodiak, AK. The upper fly bridge, lower aft fly bridge and the aft decks fiberglass will need to be ground down, structural repairs completed as needed, and new fiberglass/gel coat and paint (with no slip coating) applied. The Alaska Peninsula & Becharof Refuges Service boat, a 63' Bertram, is currently docked in Kodiak, AK (K-13). The work detailed is required to be completed before April 30, 2011. Specific items to be repaired; 1.) Grind off all gel coat, especially around hairline cracks on upper fly bridge, lower aft fly bridge and aft deck2.) Expose area where captain chair use to be positioned (on upper fly bridge), and install additional supports and reseal. Entire upper flybrige deck may need structural repair.3.) Expose area where shore power plugs currently exist, on port and starboard, ensure that plugs are firmly anchored and attached, waterproof and functioning.4.) Repaint decks, add no slip coating, and gel coat.5.)Remove plastic door between bridge and upper fly bridge, install an aluminum door Photographs of the Vessel can be viewed at ttp://www.fws.gov/filedownloads/ftp_R7CGS/USFWSR7Bertram63/ The approximate measurements for the upper fly bridge is eleven feet by eleven feet, the lower bridge is a eleven feet by fourteen feet, and the aft deck is eleven feet by eleven feet. These are only approximations of dimensions for bidding purpose. The contractor is advised to complete their own set of measurements if awarded the contract.
